Description
It's difficult to follow in the footsteps of a legend. However, Samsung's Galaxy S7 Edge managed to achieve this task without too much hardship.
Let's face facts; nobody would have envied the Galaxy S7 Edge handset when it was launched back in February 2016. After all, it had to follow in the hallowed footsteps of the S6 Edge, which has only been released the previous year and earned rave reviews for its design, power and overall performance. Fortunately, people have realised that this handset offers far more than just a curved display and sleek styling, and the adjustments made by Samsung contributed to an even better smartphone.

Full Description
In some respects, the Galaxy S7 Edge represents Samsung's greatest achievement. After all, while it may have launched shiny and more powerful handsets since, improving on the trail-blazing S6 Edge was a genuine feat of engineering.
Incredibly, Samsung even managed to enhance to an already exceptional design, whilst developing an eye-catching and stylish display that works superbly with a high resolution camera. There's not a long that a refurbished Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge can't do.
When the S6 Edge was launched in 2015, the high resolution Super AMOLED display quickly emerged as one of the design highlights. Fortunately, Samsung designed the S7 Edge with the same screen technology, while increasing the size of the display to an ample 5.5-inches.
At the same time, however, the development team has managed to alter the design and the curvature of the screen to ensure that it doesn't feel any bigger in the hand. After all, the last thing we want is a phone that makes it easier to drop it because it's too chunky. Not only this, but this 157g handset scarcely weighs any more than its predecessor.
Samsung has made a habit of designing deceptively impressive cameras, with the S6 Edge taking better snaps than its predecessor despite boasting exactly the same number of megapixels. Incredibly, they managed to enhance the camera function even further when designing the Galaxy S7 Edge, despite reducing the resolution to a comparatively meagre 12 megapixels.
This wasn't down to magic or sorcery, however, as Samsung simply leveraged the pixel count to allow for faster autofocusing and superior low light performance, which made for more impressive photographs regardless of your location. In fact, the S7 Edge took top spot in Techradar's best camera phone test of 2016.
If there was one fault with the S6 Edge, it was the relatively modest battery performance. This offered a clear area for improvement when designing the S7 Edge, however, and Samsung rose to the challenge by packing in a capacious 3,600 mAh battery. Initial testing showed that even repurposed handsets had around 15% to 25% of battery life remaining at the end of each day.
Even more impressively, this smartphone loses minimal power when it's asleep, particularly when you 're savvy enough to enable the all-important ‘Do Not Disturb ' mode and stop those pesky app notifications from draining the handset.
The repurposed Galaxy S7 Edge follows its predecessor by featuring wireless charging, which is enabled by a small trigger point on the back of the phone. Samsung has wisely decided to introduce an Adaptive Fast Charging feature that intuitively determines the best way to power up a handset in any given circumstances. In simple terms, this enables you to squeeze 50% battery life from a standard charger in barely 30 minutes.
If New York is the city that never sleeps, then it's fair to say that the Galaxy S7 Edge is the smartphone equivalent (so long as there's juice in the battery, of course). This is thanks to the ground-breaking ‘Always-On ' feature, which enables the display to permanently display notifications, calendar dates and the time even when it's locked.
After the release of a trail-blazing or flagship smartphone, it's all too common for brands to follow up with a disappointing handset. Samsung has managed to avoid this pitfall by making targeted and incremental improvements to the design of the S6 Edge, however, translating into vastly improved battery life, enhanced functionality and an even more impressive display.
